What is ‘Healthy Retail’ and how can it help you as a pharmacy owner?

In late 2015, the Chemplus Group, which had over 60 pharmacies, merged with TerryWhite Chemmart. Then what followed a year later in 2016 was another exciting merger but this time between Terry White Chemists/Chemplus and Chemmart - forming what is now Terry White Chemmart.
With this naturally came changes. Some of the pharmacy owners felt they wanted more idea and content sharing, financial and benchmarking support and the other advantages that come with regular networking and collaboration.
As such, our Healthy Collective Managing Director, Nick Tsamaidis, and other original partners decided to start Healthy Retail, for the purpose of providing business support, promoting insight and knowledge sharing, and maintaining that sense of community and camaraderie in the pharmacy industry in South Australia regardless of brand or banner group.
Shortly after its creation in March 2017, there were various Government changes, which forced pharmacies to take a serious look at their expenditures and this is where Healthy Retail was able to provide tangible business benefits. The pharmacy had their various business operations analysed, and were then provided recommendations on how to improve and operate most sustainably. This included changes in particular to areas such as rosters, while identifying other costly inefficiencies in their daily operations.
And now…
Today, Healthy Retail is a central point of information and care that provides support and guidance specifically relevant to pharmacies across multiple areas of operation, including HR support and triaging, rostering and wage budgeting, stock control, DAA packing, financial budgeting, business planning and more.
Aside from this, Healthy Retail creates a support network for pharmacy owners in South Australia, and holds quarterly benchmarking meetings reflecting on data gathered from across the group, revealing trends in the industry, and openly discussing any challenges and proactive solutions.
The Healthy Retail group continues to grow, and proudly provides a valuable and comprehensive business improvement service to pharmacies nationwide, as part of our Business Services arm, Healthy Business Group.
